Scottish Football Partnership announces support for Raith Rovers Community Foundation

The Scottish Football Partnership today announced its support for the Raith Rovers Community Foundation. The initiatives it will support include:

  • a partnership with local schools to offer primary school children the opportunity to access football coaching and fun football in a safe and structured environment
  • the “Kick-Off” Health Initiative, which will encourage people from 20-50 to get fit and learn about general well-being and healthy eating
  • a keep fit class for young, isolated parents in partnership with local Health Visitors and Fife Council’s Community Learning and Development service
  • a joint project with local High School and Fife Council to deliver a programme for students in S2 and S3 to help improve their self-confidence and communication skills

DSC_0144Over the years, many people have asked what it means to be a “community football club”, and there is no better demonstration of what this means than these projects. Raith Rovers doesn’t merely exist within the local community, it plays an active role in improving people’s lives in this community.
