Trust Backs Club Youth Policy
The Trust is preparing to give a boost to Raith Rovers’ youth policy by using a significant part of its regular income to assist the club’s youth development initiative. At the recent general meeting members overwhelmingly accepted a proposal to back the youth initiative. The meeting did not accept at this time proposals to support the costs of a commercial/marketing manager or the reopening of the railway stand.
The Society Board has been mandated to discuss the best way of implementing this proposal with the Board of Raith Rovers but members are prepared to commit £400 per month at present plus another £1,000 in return for further shares in the club.
This support for youth development will be welcomed almost unanimously by supporters. The importance of youth development to clubs these days cannot be overstated but in difficult times it can be an easy target for cash-strapped clubs. Members are hopeful that this initiative will help increase membership so that additional or different projects can be undertaken in co-operation with the club in future.
