Trust Funds Reach £10,000
In contrast to the fortunes of the team this season, the Supporters’ Trust is on an upward trajectory. The Trust recently broke the £10,000 barrier with the majority of these funds coming from ordinary supporters of the club.
As a Trust spokesman explained, “It’s really been a magnificent effort from the supporters to get this off the ground. Unlike clubs in England we have had no financial support from the Government and yet in around 12 months we have managed to raise a five-figure sum. With over 70 members now the organisation just keeps on growing. It’s clear that fans see that this as something worth being a part of and everyone is aiming towards helping to solve the obvious problems that exist at the club.”
So far the Trust has accumulated over 5,000 shares and is assisting the clubs’ Youth Development programme until the end of this season with a deal worth over £4,000.
